Many are interested in developing practical approaches to team building. There are many ways of building teams, but they are not always appropriate for a specific context.
Start by asking how teams are or should be used in a particular environment. Then ask how they are currently being used. By answering these two questions, organizations are able to identify the gap that should be filled by any team building initiative, whether internal or external.
Looking at the issue from a practical perspective, resources should be used to close the gap that has been identified. In many cases, organizations skip the gap analysis. When the gap analysis is overlooked, organizations are likely to commit resources to building a solution that not as efficient and effective as one might like.Â
Once the gap has been identified, all that is required is to decide how best to fill the gap.
